Softball Recap: Freehold Boro Colonials vs. Middletown South Eagles

Freehold Boro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss. They lost 12-6 to the Middletown South Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-5 on April 15th.

Paige Sheridan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Olivia Edmonds, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Freehold Boro's defeat dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Middletown South, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Freehold Boro will head out to take on Ocean Township at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Middletown South, they will face off against Middletown North at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
