Soccer Game Preview: Poteet vs. Hondo

The Poteet Aggies will head out on the road to square off against the Hondo Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Poteet took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Pearsall as Poteet made off with a 4-1 victory. That three goal margin sets a new team best for the Aggies this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hondo). They never let Pearsall onto the board and left with an 8-0 win on Friday. Dana Shaw had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Owls.

Hondo was without their leading scorer, Karla Renteria, in Friday's matchup. With Renteria sidelined, Zohana Wavle got her first action of the season.

Hondo's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-11. As for Poteet, their win bumped their record up to 3-13.
