Basketball Recap: Eustis Comes Up Short

Eustis suffered their closest defeat since December 27, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Seminole Seminoles by a score of 60-57. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Seminoles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Eustis lost, don't look at Cornelius Hines. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. Those 25 points gave Hines a new career-high. Lomar Sparrow was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Jorden Pittman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Seminole, going 8 of 13 en route to 19 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Justice Bracero, who posted ten points.

Eustis' defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Seminole, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Eustis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-38 win against George Jenkins on the 31st. Seminole has also already played their next contest, a 60-48 loss against Oviedo on the 31st.
