Baseball Recap: Entrepreneur Sets Scoring Season-High Against Packinghouse Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Entrepreneur). Everything went their way against the Packinghouse Christian Academy Bears on Wednesday as they made off with a 14-4 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulls as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Alex Hernandez made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Entrepreneur's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 0-6 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Richard Anchondo was a standout: he scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Escudero, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Entrepreneur always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Entrepreneur's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Packinghouse Christian Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Entrepreneur will face off against Southlands Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Bulls surely won't give up without a fight. As for Packinghouse Christian Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on The Grove School at 3:00 p.m. on the 29th.
