Volleyball Recap: South Decatur Takes a Loss

South Decatur was the 3-0 winner over Rising Sun when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shiners on Thursday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While South Decatur had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 15-25, 25-20.

Rising Sun can attribute much of their success to Bri Sams, who had 17 digs. Those 17 digs gave Sams a new career-high.

South Decatur now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Rising Sun, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-10.

Coming up, South Decatur will be playing at home against Tri at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rising Sun, they will venture away from home to face off against Lawrenceburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
