Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Neuqua Valley). They claimed a resounding 94-64 victory over the Yorkville Christian Mustangs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Yorkville Christian lost on Tuesday, don't look at Jayden Riley. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 17 en route to 22 points along with eight assists and three steals. Riley's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Zach Marini was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Neuqua Valley is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.4 points per game. As for Yorkville Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-10 record this season.

Neuqua Valley will head out to face off against Waubonsie Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waubonsie Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Neuqua Valley likes a good challenge. As for Yorkville Christian, they will be playing at home against East Dubuque at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Yorkville Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 77.8 points per game this season.
