Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln-Way East Griffins vs. Coffee Trojans

If Lincoln-Way East beats Coffee with eight runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Lincoln-Way East came out on top in a nail-biter against Troy on Monday, sneaking past 8-6.

Tyler Osmanski looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cooper Johnson was a standout: he scored a run while going 1-for-1. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Hudik, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Lincoln-Way East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Coffee came up short against Houston County on Friday and fell 10-7.

Coffee's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10. As for Lincoln-Way East, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
