The Clay-Battelle Cee-Bees will head out on the road to take on the Madonna Blue Dons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Clay-Battelle turned things around against Valley on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Lumberjacks with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Cee-Bees not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 25th (when they won 3-0).
Clay-Battelle was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-16, 25-19.

Clay-Battelle can attribute much of their success to Adelyn King, who had eight digs and one assist, and Sophia Sandone, who had ten digs. That's the most digs King has posted over her last six matches. Bailey Willard also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Madonna won the last time they faced Notre Dame and Sophie Brady did her part to make sure it happened again. The Blue Dons came out on top against the Fighting Irish by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday thanks in part to Brady, who had 23 assists and five aces. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in each of the last eight games she's played.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Madonna took both sets by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-13.
Clay-Battelle's record is now 12-8. As for Madonna, their record now sits at 15-6-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's matchup: Clay-Battelle has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8 aces per game. However, it's not like Madonna struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Clay-Battelle was able to grind out a solid win over Madonna in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, winning 3-1. Do the Cee-Bees have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Dons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
