Football Game Preview: Sanderson Spartans vs. East Wake Warriors + How To Watch

The Sanderson Spartans will square off against the East Wake Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Wake took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sanderson, who comes in off a win.

Sanderson is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Mount Zion Christian Academy to the tune of 69-18 on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Spartans considering their 13-point performance the game before.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Ben Young III and Keon Williams. Young III rushed for 170 yards and two scores on only five carries while Williams rushed for 85 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries. Those 170 rushing yards gave Young III a new career-high.

Sanderson's run defense was locked in: Mount Zion Christian Academy could only muster 2.1 yards per carry. The Spartans didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 12.3.

Meanwhile, East Wake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 64-14 defeat at the hands of Knightdale.

Sanderson's record now sits at 6-4. As for East Wake, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
