Baseball Game Preview: Hightstown Rams vs. Old Bridge Knights

The Hightstown Rams will take on the Old Bridge Knights on Wednesday. Hightstown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Ten must be Hightstown's lucky number: they beat Monroe Township with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Rams beat the Falcons by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-2. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Noah Francisco looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Daniel Krier, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamau Taylor, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Hightstown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monroe Township only managed eight.

Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Old Bridge's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost 7-0 to Monroe Township. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Knights have suffered since April 27th.

Hightstown's victory bumped their record up to 19-9-2. As for Old Bridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8.
