Baseball Recap: Stadium Takes a Loss

Stadium was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Auburn Riverside Ravens. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ravens this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 last Tuesday.

Ethan West was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Max Heinze was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.

Stadium's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Auburn Riverside, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stadium will head out to square off against West Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rams will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Auburn Riverside, they are taking a road trip to face off against Auburn at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
