Softball Recap: Eureka Comes Up Short

Eureka fell victim to Illinois Valley Central and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Grey Ghosts by a score of 2-0. The Hornets have struggled against the Grey Ghosts recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Eureka's loss dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Illinois Valley Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-13.

Coming up, Eureka will face off against Henry-Senachwine at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mallards' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Illinois Valley Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
