Timber Creek won the last time they faced V.R. Eaton and things went their way on Thursday too. The Falcons had just enough and edged out the Eagles 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Cayden Sowden spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Timber Creek's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Avery, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Timber Creek's win bumped their record up to 19-10. As for V.R. Eaton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Timber Creek will take on rival Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, V.R. Eaton is set to square off against their familiar foe Keller at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.6, the Indians 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
