Softball Recap: Beaver Dam Triumphs

Beaver Dam came out on top against West Bend West on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Golden Beavers skirted past the Spartans 12-10. That's more bragging rights for the Golden Beavers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Aaliyah Linzenmeyer looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Joy Mielke was a standout: she got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Addy Damon, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Beaver Dam's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-3. As for West Bend West, their defeat ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Beaver Dam will face off against Monona Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Beavers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Silver Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for West Bend West, they will square off against Cedarburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
