            Football Recap: Hunt Warriors vs. Fike Golden Demons        
        
		
        
        
            Hunt won the last time they faced Fike and things went their way  on Friday too. The Warriors enjoyed a cozy  50-34 victory over the Golden Demons. Given the Warriors' advantage  in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Golden Demons are ranked 200th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hunt was led to victory by  Mez Harris and  Doryan Jones.  Harris rushed for 116 yards and a pair of  TDs on only ten carries, while  Jones rushed for 164 yards and three  touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Those  three  rushing touchdowns gave  Jones a new career-high.
 Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Hunt proved: they limited Fike to a paltry 0.7 yards per carry. The team can thank  Judah Harris for the heroic effort on defense: he. Hunt didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.1.
 Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of  Jamauris Howard, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
 Fike lost  despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was   Darryl Loatman, who picked up 121 receiving yards and three  scores. He showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 65 yards.  Sam Finch was another key player, having thrown for 392 yards and four touchdowns.
The  win made it two in a row for Hunt and  bumps their season record up to 8-2. The  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 40.0 points over those games. As for Fike, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
As of now, neither Hunt nor the Golden Demons have any future games scheduled.
