Basketball Recap: Sandwich Piles Up the Points Against Harvard

Sandwich posted their biggest victory since December 18, 2024 on Thursday. They blew past the Harvard Hornets 68-40. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 313th, while the Hornets are ranked 712th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sandwich has also been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Harvard, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-17.

Sandwich will take on Richmond-Burton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Richmond-Burton will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Sandwich surely won't give up without a fight. As for Harvard, they will head out on the road to face off against Woodstock North at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
