Soccer Game Preview: Anson vs. Monroe

Anson is 0-10 against Monroe since October of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Bearcats will look to defend their home pitch against the Redhawks at 6:00 p.m. Anson has given up an average of 7.2 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Anson fell victim to Parkwood and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Wolf Pack, falling 9-0.

Meanwhile, Monroe's match on Wednesday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. Their defense stepped up to hand West Stanly a 4-0 shutout. Considering Monroe have won eight matchups by more than three goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit West Stanly with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Yoseht Lopez (2), Keven Lopez-Ramirez, and Esteban Betancur.

Monroe is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those five matches. As for Anson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
