Volleyball Recap: Grant's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

With a playoff win on the line, Grant rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Sparta Spartans by a score of 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Grant had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-15.

Bouwkamp Payton paced Grant's offense, picking up 15 kills. Payton got some help from Campbell Lauryn and her 18 assists. Finally, Clouser Brianna kept Grant's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Grant's victory bumped their record up to 33-17-3. As for Sparta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-15 record this season.

Grant will host Fremont at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sparta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
