Volleyball Recap: Brunswick Pirates vs. Savannah Christian Raiders
Savannah Christian typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Brunswick proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Raiders 2-1.
Brunswick had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-19, 15-13.
Their offense was headlined by Aubrey Rook and Ashley Adair, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Kate Small and her 20 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Savannah Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Carinne Cason, who had 12 assists and three aces, and Avery Ritzert, who had 20 digs.
