Baseball Recap: San Marino Makes It 14 in a Row at Home

The home team had won the previous five meetings between San Marino and Monrovia, and San Marino kept the tradition alive. The Titans skirted past the Wildcats 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Titans: when they faced off against the Wildcats on Monday, they had to take a 1-0 loss.

Tom?s Bilvado spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chase Mena was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Parker Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

San Marino hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monrovia struck out eight times.

San Marino pushed their record up to 17-6 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Monrovia, they moved to 19-4 with that defeat, which also ended their 12-game winning streak.

San Marino wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Temple City on the 28th. As for Monrovia, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against La Canada on the 28th.
