Volleyball Recap: Mountain Crest Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Mountain Crest unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Morgan Trojans by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

While Mountain Crest ultimately came up short, they really made Morgan work, particularly in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-14, 27-29, 26-24, 15-5.

Ella Malm and Annie Barber certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Malm had seven digs and four aces, while Barber had six digs and three blocks.

Morgan's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Mountain Crest will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Box Elder at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Morgan, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against North Summit on the 13th.
