Softball Game Preview: Seminole Warhawks vs. Northeast Vikings

The Seminole Warhawks will venture away from home to square off against the Northeast Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Seminole nor Northeast posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Seminole easily dispatched St. Petersburg on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Warhawks fell just short of Pinellas Park by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warhawks have suffered since February 26th.

Seminole saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reagan Cochran, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Northeast didn't have quite enough to beat Osceola on Wednesday and fell 2-1.

Lashell Roberts made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Seminole has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Northeast, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-5.

Seminole took their victory against Northeast in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warhawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
