First Christian hadn't done well against Riverside Christian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Lions really took it to the Wranglers for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-25 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Lions have posted against the Wranglers since February 8, 2021.

Despite the loss, Riverside Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Michael Nygard shot 43% from the field to rack up 12 points. Another player making a difference was Kyan Cooper, who posted six points and five rebounds.

First Christian's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1. As for Riverside Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

First Christian and Riverside Christian will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups.
