Preview: Tygarts Valley Bulldogs vs. Highland Rams
The Tygarts Valley Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Highland Rams at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Tygarts Valley will be strutting in after a victory while Highland will be coming in after a defeat.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you drain five more threes than your opponent, a fact Tygarts Valley proved on Tuesday. They strolled past East Hardy with points to spare, taking the game 56-39. The win was just what Tygarts Valley needed coming off of a 67-36 loss in their prior game.
Tygarts Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sarah Defibaugh led the charge by shooting 4-for-5 from long range and dropping a double-double on 21 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailen Yokum, who scored 18 points along with 6 steals.
Meanwhile, Highland came up short against North Cross on Saturday and fell 39-30. Highland has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losses dropped Tygarts Valley to 1-1 and East Hardy to 0-3.
