Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Jimmy Garoppolo, George Kittle all were 3-star recruits or lower coming out of high school.

The NFL has shown it's not where you start, but how you perform.

San Francisco 49ers starting safeties Jaquiski Tartt and Jimmie Ward each had one college offer coming out of Davidson (Mobile, Ala.) and neither warranted even a single star from 247Sports – meaning they were unrated and off the radar.

Of the 106 players on Super Bowl LIV rosters, a surprising 28 were given the same zero-star status as Tartt and Ward in high school.

Kansas City's Kendall Fuller and Dorian O'Daniel both graduated from DMV power Our Lady of Good Counsel (Md.) in 2013. They were Top 100-rated players and Fuller was one of 35 5-star players in that class. That season the Falcons won the 2012 WCAC championship and finished the year at No. 19 in the Top 25 rankings.

Fuller is one of nine 5-star players preparing for Sunday's Super Bowl. There also are 21 4-star players and 37 3-stars in Miami, including Chief's starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes. His counterpart, San Francisco's Jimmy Garoppolo, was a 2-star prospect coming out of Rolling Meadows (Ill.).

There are three 5-stars on the 49ers rosters – Nick Bosa, Arik Armstead and Solomon Thomas.

The Chiefs have six 5-stars – Chris Jones, Sammy Watkins, Mecole Hardman, LeSean McCoy, Chad Henne and Fuller.

Many stars of the Chief and Niners' season – George Kittle, Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, Emmanuel Sanders, Raheem Mostert, Eric Fisher, Joe Staley and Anthony Hitchens – were some of the players from their respected classes rated outside of the Top 1,000.

Thirty-one states have players on Super Bowl rosters along with three countries – Canada, Australia and Germany. California and Florida has double-digit players represented with the Golden State landing 13 followed by 10 from the Sunshine State. Texas, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio and Pennsylvania were the only other states with at least five players featured.

Here is the complete list of where each player graduated from high school and their player ranking based off 247sports composite list. The depth charts are according to NFL.com.
