Granite Hills strolled into their game on Friday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against the Valhalla Norsemen as they made off with an 8-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Trevor Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single hit in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other pitching news, Scott Russell looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Tommy Entrekin, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Anthony Miotti was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Granite Hills' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-0-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Valhalla, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Granite Hills will welcome Helix at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Highlanders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Valhalla, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against El Capitan at 4:00 p.m.
