Baseball Recap: Madison-Grant Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

Madison-Grant won the last time they faced Tipton and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Argylls put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 11-5 victory. Considering the Argylls have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brock Barnhart made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Madison-Grant got a big performance out of Xavier Yeagy, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Yeagy has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Luke Gilman, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Madison-Grant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Madison-Grant has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Tipton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Coming up, Madison-Grant will square off against Oak Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Argylls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Tipton, they will head out on the road to square off against Lapel at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
