Baseball Recap: Maize South Has No Trouble Against South

Maize South won the last time they faced South and things went their way on Friday too. The Mavericks were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Cougars. Considering the Mavericks have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Maize South and bumps their season record up to 13-7-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for South, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maize South will head out to take on Kapaun Mt. Carmel on Tuesday. The Crusaders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Mavericks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for South, they will head out on the road to challenge Eisenhower at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
