Basketball Recap: Kaleigh Wilson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lee Christian over Crossroads Christian

After flying high against Cape Fear Christian Academy last Tuesday, Lee Christian came back down to earth. The Lee Christian Falcons fell 48-41 to the Crossroads Christian Colts on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Colts: they've now lost six in a row.

Lee Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaleigh Wilson, who went 6 of 11 en route to 15 points and six rebounds. Wilson's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elayna McFarland, who posted seven points and 18 boards.

Even though they lost, Lee Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matchups.

Lee Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Crossroads Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Lee Christian will take on Bradford Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Crossroads Christian has already played their next game (against Brunswick Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
