Volleyball Recap: Blessed Trinity Falls Short Against Ranked Woodward Academy

Blessed Trinity faced Woodward Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Titans fell 2-0 to the War Eagles. That makes it the first time this season the Titans have let down their home crowd.

While Blessed Trinity was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-19.

Riley Gilmore paced Blessed Trinity's offense, picking up seven kills. Gilmore got some help from Zoe Woodward and her nine assists.

Blessed Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 26-9. As for Woodward Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 30-6.

Blessed Trinity has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Marist on the 25th. As for Woodward Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on McIntosh at 6:00 p.m. on October 7.
