Baseball Recap: Danville Vikings vs. Urbana Tigers
Danville had lost five straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-23 to make it six. They lost 19-1 to the Urbana Tigers. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 7-3.
As for Urbana, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-19. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 12th (when they won 22-0).
For Urbana's part, Corey Johnson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Danville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-2 loss against Casey-Westfield on the 17th. As for Urbana, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against MacArthur on the 20th.
