Orange County had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Charlottesville on Friday. The Fighting Hornets blew past the Black Knights 14-1. Considering the Fighting Hornets have won eight matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Orange County's third in a row) raised their record to 11-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Charlottesville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Coming up, Orange County will host Fluvanna County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Fighting Hornets 2.5, the Flying Flucos 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Charlottesville, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-0 loss against Louisa County on the 23rd.
