Softball Recap: Perry Falls to Riverdale in First Game of Season

Perry kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Riverdale Falcons, falling 23-7.

Maddy McKee made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Takyrah McVay was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Riverdale back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Perry will venture away from home to face off against McComb at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Riverdale, they will welcome Arlington at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
