Preview: Ford Panthers vs. Canton Eagles
Ford is 0-8 against Canton since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Ford Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Canton Eagles at 7:15 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Ford beat Cumberland Academy 12-8. The win was just what Ford needed coming off of a 10-3 defeat in their prior match.
Jaiden Seigler made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit (he also only allowed one walk). Seigler was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rhett Usleman, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Meanwhile, Canton had just enough and edged Kaufman out 3-1 on Tuesday.
The victory got Ford back to even at 8-8-2. As for Canton, their record now sits at 15-4.
