It was a good run, but Hillsboro unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Monday. They fell 2-0 to the Nokomis Redskins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hiltoppers of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-19.

Kailey Weiss paced Hillsboro's offense, picking up seven kills. Weiss got some help from Amya Greenwood and her ten assists. Greenwood was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Hillsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Nokomis, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 21-0.

Hillsboro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Pawnee on the 1st. As for Nokomis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lincolnwood on the 30th.
