Basketball Recap: Tarpon Springs Comes Up Short

Tarpon Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 75-47 loss at the hands of the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes. The Spongers were down 52-29 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Curtis George continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Palm Harbor University, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 19 boards. George has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Arkeas Cooper, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Tarpon Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Palm Harbor University, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-13.

Tarpon Springs won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against East Lake at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. East Lake has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Palm Harbor University, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Largo at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Palm Harbor University is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.
