Volleyball Game Preview: Maumee Panthers vs. Otsego Knights

Maumee hasn't had much luck against Otsego recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Maumee will be strutting in after a win while Otsego will be coming in after a defeat.

On Thursday, Maumee got the win against Eastwood by a conclusive 3-0.

Maumee never let Eastwood on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-14, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Otsego suffered their biggest loss since September 9th on Thursday. They came up short against Lake, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-20, 25-17.

Maumee will have to keep a close watch on Molly Kramer and Cassie Bunde, a pair of players who had a big impact on Otsego's prior game. Kramer had 17 digs, while Bunde had 21 assists and four digs. Bunde has been hot for a while, having posted 18 or more assists the last 17 times she's played.

Otsego's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Maumee, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Maumee couldn't quite get it done against Otsego in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
