Recap: Heard County Braves vs. Pelham Hornets
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Heard County Braves can now relate to. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 41-22 to Pelham. Heard County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ethan Tisdale threw for 129 yards and a touchdown. Max Lasseter was his top target, picking up 63 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Qua Nelson rushed for 61 yards on only seven carries.
Nathaniel Walker had a dynamite game for Pelham, rushing for 269 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.9 yards per carry. Walker really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Another player making a difference was Parnell Yates, who rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Heard County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Pelham, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Heard County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pelham will take on Bryan County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bryan County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
