Basketball Recap: Cashton Takes a Loss

Cashton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 71-41 defeat at the hands of the Kickapoo Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 80-30 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Cashton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Graham Hemmersbach went 8-for-13 en route to 19 points. Another player making a difference was Drew Butzler, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Cashton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Kickapoo, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Cashton and Kickapoo will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Eagles will take on rival Bangor at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kickapoo is set to square off against their familiar foe Weston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
