Basketball Recap: Merkel's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Merkel came into Friday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They snuck past the Grape Creek Eagles with a 39-34 win on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Badgers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Merkel's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 7-15. As for Grape Creek, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-15.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Clyde the next time they take the court. Grape Creek will host Clyde at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Merkel will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on January 24th.
