Recap: Walhalla Razorbacks vs. West-Oak Warriors
The Walhalla Razorbacks won the last time they faced the West-Oak Warriors, and things went their way on Friday too. Walhalla strolled past West-Oak with points to spare, taking the game 48-31. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Walhalla.
Walhalla got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Marnie Baxter out in front who scored 20 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Ortiz-Viera, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.
West-Oak lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Reagan Mobley, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Mobley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Miley White was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Walhalla has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for West-Oak, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walhalla's road trip will continue as they head out to face Seneca at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Seneca will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Walhalla is ranked 48th). As for West-Oak, they will head out on the road to square off against Crescent at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crescent is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
