Baseball Recap: Bay Tornadoes vs. Leon Lions
Bay's last matchup with Leon could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Tuesday. The Tornadoes came up short against the Lions, falling 12-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tornadoes of the 8-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2018.
Bay saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johnathan Corona, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
This is the second loss in a row for Bay and nudges their season record down to 13-9. As for Leon, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bay will square off against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Stingrays' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Tornadoes' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Leon, they will challenge Wakulla at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
