Maize South took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Andover Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mavericks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Jaguars on Friday, sneaking past 9-8. This was a revenge game for the Mavericks: when they faced off against the Jaguars on Friday, they had to take a 11-3 loss.

Maize South has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Andover Central, they now have a losing record of 7-8-1.
