Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Vernon's Ninth in Last 12 Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Holliday, Vernon was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They managed a 38-32 victory over the Henrietta Bearcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 50-40 on January 3rd.

Leading Vernon to victory were Key'Maria Mcbride and Marhianna Johnson. Mcbride went 7 of 11 en route to 17 points and four steals, while Johnson posted six points in addition to seven boards and six steals. Mcbride's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Vernon is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. As for Henrietta, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-14 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Bowie the next time they take the court. Vernon will host Bowie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Henrietta will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th.
