Baseball Recap: Cocoa Comes Up Short

Cocoa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 22nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Space Coast Vipers, falling 23-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Vipers this season, with their most recent loss being a 17-0 defeat two weeks ago.

Cocoa saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Travis Taylor, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Cocoa's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Space Coast, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cocoa will square off against Brevard HEAT at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cocoa has given up an average of 22.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Space Coast, they will take on Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
