Baseball Recap: Beaver Local Has No Trouble Against East Liverpool

Beaver Local hadn't done well against East Liverpool recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Beavers blew past the Potters 8-1. The matchup marked the Beavers' most dominant victory of the season.

Paxton Grimes was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Beaver Local is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 0-12 otherwise. Grimes was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Logan Roberts was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

The win snapped Beaver Local's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-13 record. As for East Liverpool, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beaver Local will host United at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Liverpool, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Palestine at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Potters' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
