Baseball Recap: Southwest Legacy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Southwest Legacy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Harlandale Indians on Thursday by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-scoring effort was just what the Titans needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Nate Araiza made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Aiden Garcia was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-2. He has become a key player for Southwest Legacy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jeremy Saucedo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Southwest Legacy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Southwest Legacy's record is now 7-12. As for Harlandale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.
