League recap: Sky View's league-best three wins lead to standings climb

4A Region 5 league recap: 4/3/13

Sky View outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its three total wins led the league. The Bobcats beat Box Elder 4-1 and Murray 2-1.

4A Region 5's longest active winning streak belongs to Bonneville (6-3), undefeated over its last four games.

Roy's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only eight hits and four walks, both of which led the league.

The Royals' Carson Bubert kept his eye on the prize while at bat this week, leading the league with a .667 average (2-for-3). He's batting .250 on the year, which puts him at 20th in the league. Bubert has accumulated three base knocks this year so far.

Roy's Chase Gurule led the league in strikeouts this week with seven. With ten strikeouts this year so far, he ranks third in the league.



The Lakers' Will Heward struck out 12 Weber hitters en route to an 8-4 victory on March 28. He gave up two hits and four runs over six innings of work.
