Basketball Recap: Lyman Memorial Bulldogs vs. Coventry Patriots
After flying high against Wright Tech last Monday, Lyman Memorial came back down to earth. The Lyman Memorial Bulldogs took a blow against the Coventry Patriots on Wednesday, falling 66-36. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Loss or not, Lyman Memorial got some senior leadership from Jenny Lopez and Phoebe Carpenter. Lopez dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds, while Carpenter posted seven points in addition to 14 boards and six blocks. Lopez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 21 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Juliana Haynes, who put up two points and seven boards.
Even though they lost, Lyman Memorial smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive boards in five consecutive contests.
Coventry found their leader in freshman Reese Jeamel, who had nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Lyman Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Coventry, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-3.
Lyman Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Coventry, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 66-36 victory against Lyman Hall on the 5th.
