Recap: Lone Grove Longhorns vs. Perkins-Tryon Demons
The Lone Grove Longhorns and the Perkins-Tryon Demons squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Lone Grove Longhorns had to settle for second. Lone Grove was dealt a 48-6 loss at the hands of Perkins-Tryon. The low total for Lone Grove limited their streak of high-flying scores to three in a row.
Perkins-Tryon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Wyatt Atkinson out in front who rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Preston Gajewski got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Lone Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Perkins-Tryon, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Lone Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Perkins-Tryon will square off against Holland Hall at TBD on Friday. Holland Hall is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
